What is Caller ID?

Caller ID enables you to display your company’s phone number or a Virtual Number instead of the default CallPage number when a customer receives a callback.

Caller ID Options

Please note: Custom Caller ID Feature is available from Pro plan.
In the CallPage account, we can configure the number displayed on both the client’s and consultant’s phones:

1. On the client’s phone, you can choose:

  • CallPage Default Number

  • CallPage Virtual Number

  • Consultant’s Number*

  • Selected Consultant’s Number*

2. On the consultant’s phone:

  • CallPage Default Number

  • CallPage Virtual Number

Virtual Number as a Caller ID

We highly recommend using a virtual number instead of a custom Caller ID. Virtual numbers come with several benefits, such as:

  • Better Call and Lead Management: A virtual number can streamline the organization and tracking of incoming calls and customer inquiries.

  • Easier Identification of Contact Source: By using a unique virtual number, you can easily trace the origin of calls.

  • Multi-Channel Consistency: Virtual numbers can be used across different locations on your website or in marketing materials, creating a consistent customer experience.

How to set up a Virtual Number as a caller ID?

  1. Order a virtual number in CallPage (you can find instructions here: LINK).

  2. Configure the virtual number (instructions available here: LINK).

    Please note: Virtual Phone Number is paid additionally.

When your number is already set up, you can set it as a Caller ID. To do this, go to the Widgets tab -> Edit widget settings. In the widget editor, go to the Calls tab -> Caller ID:

Select the 'Incoming number' option and then choose the previously purchased virtual number from the list. Don't forget to save the changes.

*How to set up your consultant's number as Caller ID?

Available options for using a consultant's number as a Caller ID in CallPage:

Consultant's number - displaying on the client's phone number of the consultant they are currently talking to.

Selected consultant's number - this is the display of one specific consultant number, which will always be displayed to customers, regardless of which consultant they are talking to.

To set a consultant number as Caller ID please reach out to our team that will guide you through the process. Since the consultant's number requires additional verification make sure you have access to this number and will be able to receive a verification SMS or phone call.

Important Note on Caller ID Limitations in Certain Regions

Due to regulations in certain countries, setting Caller ID to a custom customer number may not always be feasible. The Caller ID feature is functional in countries like the United States, Canada, and the UK. However, it may be restricted in some European countries and Brazil due to local regulations.
